Dr. Nikolai Young is originally from Portland, Oregon, and is a second-generation doctor who felt called to healthcare from an early age. Influenced by his father, a radiologist, he explored several paths before discovering chiropractic at a high school conference. The philosophy and scope of chiropractic resonated deeply with him, leading to a clear and committed path toward becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, and went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. During his doctoral training, Dr. Young chose to sub-specialize in upper cervical care, a highly precise approach focused on the alignment of the top bones of the neck (C1 and C2) and their relationship to the skull, neuromuscular system, vascular system, and nervous system.
This work became deeply personal after witnessing the profound impact upper cervical care had on his wife. After struggling with debilitating anxiety, panic attacks, and sensory sensitivities, she experienced significant relief through this form of care. Watching her regain her quality of life solidified Dr. Young’s dedication to upper cervical chiropractic and strengthened his belief in its life-changing potential.
Dr. Young has advanced training in both the Blair Upper Cervical and Atlas Orthogonal techniques—specialized methods that allow for precise corrections without twisting, popping, or cracking. He is committed to delivering individualized, thoughtful care based on detailed analysis and clinical precision.
Over time, Dr. Young has developed a particular passion for working with patients experiencing headaches, migraines, neck pain, dizziness/vertigo, concussions as well as tempomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. He recognizes that many of these conditions cannot be fully understood—or effectively treated—without considering the upper neck. The relationship between the upper neck and the surrounding musculature and skeletal structure is closely connected, and even small misalignments in this area can contribute to altered nerve function, fluid dynamics, and chronic pain.
By combining precise upper neck corrections with other supportive therapies patients are often able to experience more consistent, long-lasting relief. This collaborative model allows both the structural and functional components of neck dysfunction to be addressed at the same time.
Some of the most rewarding cases in Dr. Young’s practice are those in which patients have struggled for years without answers. By approaching these cases from a multidisciplinary perspective, many patients experience improvements in associated symptoms such as headaches, neck pain, dizziness, and nervous system dysregulation.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Young remains actively involved in advancing the chiropractic profession. He completed his Legion of Chiropractic Philosophers (LCP) diplomate in 2022 and his Diplomate in Chiropractic Philosophical Standards (DPhCS) in 2025. He is an active member of the International Chiropractors Association (ICA), where he serves as a Representative Assemblyman and is a life member of the Delta Sigma Chi professional chiropractic fraternity.
